Allen and his wife, Karen, live near San Antonio with their adult son, Adam, who has Down Syndrome. Adam attended Down Home Ranch Camp in its earliest years of operation and before it became the home that it is for today's Ranchers. Together, Allen and Karen have been advocates for individuals with intellectual disabilities and over the years have been financial supporters of Down Home Ranch, Special Olympics Texas, as well as other causes for those with ID.
Allen Leitko Is a Certified Public Accountant and retired CFO of Alamo Cement Company, a regional construction materials manufacturer headquartered in San Antonio, Texas. He earned his BBA from The University of Texas San Antonio and his MBA from The University of Texas at Austin. He began his professional career with Arthur Young and Company and joined Alamo Cement in 1980. Allen retired from Alamo Cement in 2014. In 2015 Allen was appointed a member of Bexar County's Appraisal Review Board, a Board established for each Texas County by the Texas State legislature and whose members decide various matters of dispute between taxpayers and the County's Appraisal District.
Allen is a former Chairman of the Board of Texas Special Olympics. He served on the Board of Directors of Special Olympics Texas for thirteen years between 2001 and 2015. Allen enjoys playing golf with his son Adam and others. He also enjoys downhill skiing, recreational bicycle riding, fishing, and other outdoor activities. The family enjoys travel together with a visit to each U.S. State in mind. The Leitko's are life-long Lutherans and currently belong to Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church in San Antonio.
